Weddings in Wales Properly Filmed
Looking for a wedding videographer in Cardiff who won’t turn your big day into a film set? I work across Cardiff and South Wales capturing weddings as they really are — natural, relaxed, and full of the good stuff. No cheesy poses. No faffing about. Just the story of your day, told clearly and honestly.
Whether you’re tying the knot at Cardiff Castle, exchanging vows in a quiet country church outside the city, or planning a registry office ceremony with a big afterparty, I’ll be there to film it in a way that feels calm, effortless, and true to you.
Filming Weddings Across Cardiff and Beyond
Cardiff’s full of wedding venues that each bring their own character — from historic landmarks and hotel ballrooms to quirky converted barns and industrial spaces. I’ve worked all over the city and surrounding areas, including:
-
Cardiff Castle – A dramatic and iconic venue, right in the city centre, perfect for couples after a sense of grandeur.
-
City Hall & The Mansion House – Classic options for civil ceremonies with elegant backdrops.
-
Canada Lodge & Lake – A peaceful, rural escape just outside the city, with water views and woodland surroundings.
-
De Courceys Manor – A refined venue in Pentyrch offering exclusive use and great indoor-outdoor flow.
-
The Coal Exchange – Full of history and atmosphere, ideal for big, bold weddings in the heart of Cardiff Bay.
-
Insole Court – A Victorian mansion perfect for couples wanting charm, intimacy, and a bit of Cardiff heritage.
And if you’re heading out into the Vale or over to Caerphilly, Newport, or the Brecon Beacons, I cover that too — no problem.

A Videographer Who Lets You Breathe
My approach is built around one thing — not getting in the way. I don’t boss people around, I don’t re-stage moments, and I won’t drag you away from the party for awkward poses. I use small, discreet camera setups and professional audio gear to capture everything clearly without interrupting the flow of the day.
You’ll barely notice I’m there — but when you watch your wedding film back, you’ll notice everything else: the looks, the reactions, the energy, the things you missed in the moment. That’s the point.
What You Can Expect
Before the wedding: We’ll have a call or quick meeting to talk through timings, vibe, and anything specific you want covered. You can tell me the must-capture moments — or you can leave it all in my hands.
On the day: I’ll arrive early and stick to the schedule. Whether I’m filming the morning prep, the full ceremony, or just the evening celebrations, I’ll keep things simple, professional, and low-key.
After the day: You’ll get a clean, cinematic edit — usually a 5–10 minute highlight film, plus longer edits or full speeches if needed. I aim to deliver within 4–6 weeks, with everything sent digitally and backed up safely.
Add-Ons If You Want Them
-
Drone footage – If the weather and location allow, I can add aerial shots for a sense of place. Especially useful if you’re marrying near Cardiff Bay or out in the countryside.
-
Full ceremony & speeches – Want everything in full, not just the highlights? No problem — I can deliver clean multicam edits of your vows and speeches as add-ons.
-
Raw footage – Some couples like having all the original footage for their own keepsake. Ask if this is something you’d like to include.
Why Book a Local Wedding Videographer in Cardiff?
Being based in Wales means I know the traffic, the venues, and how to work with the weather. I know how to adapt quickly if things run late, how to quietly mic up a nervous groom, and how to film speeches in tight, echoey rooms without compromising sound quality.
I also know the local suppliers — from photographers and florists to venue managers and registrars. Having someone who understands the flow of a Cardiff wedding (especially with tight city centre timings or multiple locations) helps everything go that little bit smoother.
My Style in a Nutshell
-
Real moments, not staged ones
-
Clear audio — vows, speeches, and music that actually sound good
-
Smooth, cinematic visuals without over-the-top effects
-
Fast turnaround and clear communication
-
One person, minimal kit — keeping it discreet
